Russian Forces Attempt to Rotate Troops on Kherson Islands, but Ukrainian Military Destroys Their Boats
Russian forces are attempting to rotate personnel at observation posts on islands in Kherson region, but Ukrainian troops are regularly destroying their watercraft.
This was reported in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defence Forces.
According to him, Russian units are trying to replace personnel at observation posts located on the islands of Velykyi Vilkhovyi Island, Bilohrudyi Island, and Nestryha Island.
The occupiers are also attempting to move their boats in the area of Zaliznyi Port, but Ukrainian forces are regularly detecting and destroying them.
“Over the past day, two boats were destroyed. Before that, we were also destroying boats in this direction almost every day,” Voloshyn said.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, total Russian combat losses in the war against Ukraine from 24 February 2022 to 13 March 2026 amount to approximately 1,277,620 personnel. Over the past day alone, Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 860 Russian troops.
During the last 24 hours, Ukrainian forces repelled 122 enemy attacks along the entire front line. The most intense fighting was recorded in the directions of Huliaipole and Kostiantynivka. The enemy used air strikes, kamikaze drones and artillery, while Ukrainian defence forces carried out systematic fire strikes against occupying troops.
