Russians plan to replace the commander of the Black Sea Fleet
Russian military leadership is considering replacing Admiral Sergei Pinchuk as commander of the Black Sea Fleet.
The main reason cited is the repeated failures to protect naval bases and ships from Ukrainian maritime drones.
The ATESH partisan movement reports that rumours circulating among officers have reached Russia’s senior leadership.
ATESH agents within the fleet headquarters are reportedly monitoring discussions about potential replacements for Pinchuk. The leading candidate is said to be Vice Admiral Ildar Akhmerov, the First Deputy Commander of the fleet.
ATESH partisans emphasise their role in the destruction of Russian warships since 2022. They conduct reconnaissance of vessels and naval bases in Crimea and Novorossiysk, passing intelligence to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to enable strikes.
As a result, Russia’s Black Sea Fleet continues to suffer losses, despite propagandist claims of “full control”.
Earlier, partisans reported identifying a key command-and-control facility of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
It was also reported that the Kremlin wants to return the Black Sea Fleet to its base in Sevastopol.
