The Russians are breaking through in small groups, using reconnaissance drones and "zhduns"
Russian troops have stepped up their attempts to infiltrate Ukrainian paratroopers' positions, operating in small groups and employing new tactical approaches.
This was reported by the 81st Separate Slobozhansky Airborne Brigade.
According to military sources, the occupiers advance mainly at night, using guide drones and camouflage to remain undetected and avoid direct combat. They use basements, abandoned or damaged buildings, as well as dugouts in the “gray zone” for cover.
At the same time, the Ukrainian military is effectively countering these actions—kamikaze drone crews are targeting detected targets.
The brigade also reports an increase in the number of enemy drones—both strike and reconnaissance drones. With improved weather conditions, the enemy has intensified aerial reconnaissance to identify the positions of the Defense Forces and strike logistics routes.
A separate threat is posed by so-called “loitering” drones, which the Russians deploy along key routes used by Ukrainian units.
Currently, the Ukrainian military is actively working to detect and destroy such devices. At the same time, the enemy continues to build up forces in previously occupied settlements, attempting to increase its offensive capabilities.
As a reminder, a small number of Russian troops remain in the center of Kupiansk, having entrenched themselves in the ruined building of the local hospital. This was reported on air by Viktor Tregubov, spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation, while commenting on statements by Russian bloggers regarding the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the city.
Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the massive onslaught of Russian aggressors, repelling 147 combat engagements across various sections of the front over the past day.
As a reminder, in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled a Russian mechanized assault and destroyed enemy equipment.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counterattacks are forcing Russia to change its offensive plans.
