Russians complain of cities being paralysed by AFU strikes – HUR interception
The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has released another intercepted conversation in which Russian residents express strong dissatisfaction with the consequences of attacks on their infrastructure.
In response to Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy system, Ukraine’s Defence Forces carried out effective strikes on facilities inside Russia, leading to complete power and communications outages in certain regions.
In the intercepted conversation, the speakers describe the situation as a total paralysis, saying that cities have effectively “died out” due to the lack of basic living conditions.
Particular frustration is directed at the discrepancy between the real situation and the narratives promoted by official Kremlin propaganda. In private discussions, they acknowledge that state-controlled media are concealing both the scale of destruction in the rear areas and the catastrophic losses of occupying forces on the front line. One participant openly states a loss of faith in slogans about Russian greatness, stressing that the authorities prefer not to mention defeats and devastating Ukrainian strikes.
Such sentiments indicate a gradual sobering among part of Russian society, which is beginning to feel the consequences of the war first-hand. The interception once again underscores that retaliatory strikes on strategic enemy facilities are undermining the illusion of security within Russia and demoralising the population. Despite total censorship, the reality of heavy losses and the vulnerability of Russian infrastructure is becoming increasingly apparent to ordinary citizens of the aggressor state.
It was previously reported that more than 220,000 people in Belgorod region were left without electricity. In Bryansk, a blackout occurred following a Ukrainian attack.
