Russians complain about North Korean artillery — OSINT

OSINT researcher The Dead District published feedback from Russian soldiers regarding North Korean-made artillery currently used by the Russian Armed Forces.

Specifically, the reports concern D-74 guns, some of which, according to available information, are supplied to Russia by North Korea.

In their feedback, Russian soldiers highlight numerous technical problems and low quality of the weaponry.

According to Russian troops, the North Korean guns exhibit poor metal quality, causing parts, including breeches, to break off during use.

Additionally, the Russians report serious issues with ammunition. They note a large variation in the weight of artillery shells and powder charges, which prevents standard use.

As a result, ammunition reportedly has to be weighed and sorted into batches separately to reduce risks during firing and improve accuracy.

The OSINT researcher notes that such complaints indicate both a low level of quality control in North Korean military production and Russia’s ongoing problems with supplying its own army with modern and reliable artillery weapons.

For context, Russian positions on the front line are also experiencing a critical shortage of food. Ukrainian intelligence released an intercepted conversation in which Russian soldiers openly discuss hunger and their readiness to take extreme measures. The Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) emphasizes that such cases are no longer isolated incidents.
