Russians complain about HX-2 drone strikes by Ukrainian Forces on the frontline
The Russian army is experiencing attacks from Ukrainian forces using HX-2 strike drones produced by Helsing. These kamikaze drones can fly up to 100 kilometers and are already being used on many frontlines.
Footage of drone debris has been published on a Russian Telegram channel.
According to reports, Russian troops are recording numerous casualties and technical damage due to such strikes.
“This drone, like the Martian, has terminal guidance and turns off its video transmitter when attacking the target. Therefore, the drone detector either does not see it or sees it too late. Also, the drone prefers to glide onto the target, so it is hard to hear acoustically. It works in tandem with a relay-wing, like the Lancet. The Retric does not turn off its video, so it is always visible on the air. It may also be possible to detect the launch of HX-2 through a secondary signal on nearby frequencies, as was the case with the Lancet,” the Telegram channel report said.
The report added that these drones strike repair crews and road construction workers in areas considered relative rear positions of Russia.
At the same time, in 2025 it was reported that Helsing was to produce 6,000 HX-2 attack drones for Ukraine.
“The HX-2 drone, with an X-shaped wing and tail assembly, was introduced at the end of 2024. It is designed to destroy armored vehicles, artillery, and other military targets, including engineering structures. The UAV weighs 12 kg, is equipped with four electric motors in the tail section, and reaches a maximum speed of up to 220 kilometers per hour,” the report added.
Helsing emphasized that this kamikaze drone has a flight range of up to 100 kilometers. The total weight of the UAV indicates that it carries a warhead weighing several kilograms.
“The developers note that thanks to artificial intelligence technologies, the drone has high autonomy under conditions of electronic warfare influence and is capable of effectively striking targets. Also, several HX-2 drones can combine into a ‘swarm’ to carry out a combat mission,” Militarnyi noted.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have stopped dozens of assaults on the Sloviansk and Pokrovsk directions.
It is recalled that in one day, the AFU eliminated 960 Russian troops and destroyed five air defense systems.
Additionally, on the Kupiansk direction, the AFU destroyed a camouflaged MT-LB and enemy drones.
