Russians firing on their own troops on the Kharkiv front
On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces are experiencing serious coordination problems. Due to chaos in their command, some Russian units have opened fire on their own soldiers and even on their own drones, according to OTU “Kharkiv”.
Within the area of responsibility of the Kharkiv operational-tactical group, Ukrainian forces report significant disruptions in coordination among Russian units. The lack of clear orders and delineation of responsibility zones has led to friendly fire incidents and casualties among the occupiers themselves.
OTU “Kharkiv” stated that the command of the 82nd Motor Rifle Regiment of the 69th Motor Rifle Division, 6th Russian Army, in the Sinelnykove area, failed to properly coordinate the actions of its units. “The enemy command is unable to establish coordination between its units and define responsibility zones. This leads to chaos and cases of friendly fire,” the report noted.
According to Ukrainian forces, when the 1st and 3rd Russian battalions moved toward the same position simultaneously, two Russian soldiers were wounded due to the lack of coordination and confusing orders. Additionally, the 1st Motor Rifle Battalion is under constant attack from Ukrainian artillery and drones. This has left Russian assault groups disoriented, causing them to lose track of their routes and struggle to assess the situation on the ground.
OTU “Kharkiv” also reported that under these conditions, Russian troops abandon their wounded on the battlefield and sometimes fire on their own drones, mistaking them for Ukrainian ones.
Ukrainian forces emphasize that command issues, poor inter-unit coordination, and constant pressure from the Armed Forces of Ukraine are only deepening the chaos in the Russian army on the Kharkiv front.
