The Russian army has attacked Ukrainian military positions on the front line 60 times
Since the start of the day, Russian occupation forces have attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces 60 times, concentrating the majority of their assaults on the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook, releasing operational information as of 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29.
The occupiers continue to terrorize the civilian population and Ukrainian defenders in the border regions of our country.
“Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today, in the Sumy region, the settlements of Ryzhivka, Bachivsk, Novovasylivka, Sopych, Ulanove, Volfyne, Iskryskivshchyna, and Rohizne were hit; in the Chernihiv region—Klyusi,” the General Staff noted.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out thirty-two attacks on settlements and positions of Ukrainian troops.
Five of these strikes were carried out by the invaders using multiple launch rocket systems.
Meanwhile, in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, four assaults were recorded in the areas of the settlements of Starytsia, Lyman, and toward Ternova.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian units twice attacked the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defensive lines toward the settlements of Kivsharivka and Novoplatonivka, where one engagement is ongoing.
In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian troops successfully repelled three attempts by the invaders to advance toward Drobysheve. In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces completely halted a Russian attempt to advance in the area of Rai-Oleksandrivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian defenders blocked two enemy attacks in the area of Nykyforivka and toward Tykhonivka.
Five assault attempts were repelled in the Kostiantynivka sector near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Ivanopil, and Rusyn Yar.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the occupiers have not conducted any active offensive operations since the start of this day.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the invaders attempted 23 times to dislodge Ukrainian troops from their positions.
Fighting took place in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and in the direction of Vilne, Toretske, Novyi Shakhovyi, and Shevchenko, with three clashes still ongoing.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attempted to advance six times in the areas of Shcherbakiv and Plavni.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Defense Forces successfully repelled fourteen enemy attacks in the Dobropillia area and toward Novozaporizhzhia, Vozdvizhivka, Staroukrainka, Tsvitkove, and Charivne, where three firefights are ongoing.
In other sectors of the front, no significant changes in the situation have occurred so far, and no active attempts by the enemy to advance have been recorded.
