Russian sabotage groups are infiltrating Kozacha Lopana in the Kharkiv region
Russian troops are employing infiltration tactics and crossing the state border in the Kharkiv region, advancing toward the village of Kozacha Lopan. According to media reports, the occupiers have been spotted directly within the village for at least a week.
The Joint Forces Operation’s response to a request from UP: “The enemy is attempting assault operations in the direction of Kozacha Lopan, having carried out a tactical wedge maneuver along a section of Ukraine’s state border near the village of Graniv. Defense forces are detecting actual attempts by Russian units to cross the border and infiltrate in the direction of Kozacha Lopan.”
As Viktor Tregubov, a spokesperson for the Joint Forces Operation, clarified in a comment to UP, fighting is currently taking place between the villages of Hraniv and Kozacha Lopan.
“Enemies have infiltrated Kozacha Lopan, but it’s hard to say exactly how many are there. Our forces are actively sending UAVs there. It all started with the loss of Veterinarne (the village of Veterinarne on the border with Russia, north of Kozacha Lopan—UP); the previous brigade commander was relieved of his duties a couple of months ago because of this,” said one of the sources.
According to information from our military, there are indeed small groups of Russians who are changing into civilian clothes and entering the streets near the state border. These are streets that are part of Kozacha Lopan (...). As of now, there are more than 100 civilian residents in the village of Kozacha Lopan.”
The Joint Forces Group acknowledges the possibility that the Russians will attempt to “expand their offensive or break through in this area.”
In response to a follow-up question from UP regarding what exactly the Joint Forces Group is doing to prevent this, the Joint Forces Operation replied that it is “reinforcing troop deployments in threatened areas, improving engineering barriers and fortifications, actively employing firepower, and conducting counter-sabotage measures.”
The villages of Veterinarne and Graniv are the fifth and sixth points of Russian infiltration in the Kharkiv region, according to data from the DeepState map.
This was reported by “Ukrainska Pravda,” citing sources within the military, a response from the Joint Forces Command, and the head of the Derhachi City Military Administration.
