Russian troops have advanced near Zakitne in the Donetsk region — DeepState

Over the past day, Russian troops have advanced in the area of the village of Zakytne in the Lyman community of Donetsk Oblast. According to analysts at DeepState, the occupiers have taken control of approximately 2 square kilometers of territory.

It is noted that the advance took place in the western part of the settlement along the right bank of the Siverskyi Donets River.

As a result, the area under occupation increased by 2.14 square kilometers, and the infiltration zone (gray zone) expanded by another 0.14 square kilometers.

At the same time, according to the maps, the entire built-up area of the village is now under the occupiers’ control, and the neighboring village of Kryva Luka, which had been under the constant control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, is now partially within the infiltration zone.

The U.S. Institute for the Study of War (ISW) paints a similar picture on the maps accompanying its report as of Sunday: Zakytne is fully occupied, and Kryva Luka is in the infiltration zone of the Russian occupiers.

“Russian troops recently carried out an infiltration mission in the Sloviansk direction,” the briefing states, without mentioning these settlements.

However, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not confirmed this information. On the map accompanying the report as of 8:00 a.m. Monday, the village of Zakytne is shown under enemy attack but largely under the control of the Defense Forces. Kryva Luka is entirely under the control of the Defense Forces. The General Staff does not show the “gray zone” on its maps.

“In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched 28 assaults (on Sunday—IF-U) near Zakytne, Kaleniky, Riznykivka, and toward the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka,” the report stated.

This is evidenced by maps from the OSINT project DeepState.

Zelenskyy confirmed the Defense Forces’ strikes on the Sloviansk oil refinery.

The SBU revealed details of the strike on the oil refinery, which supplied fuel to Crimea.
