Russian drones attacked the Chernihiv region; there are casualties and damage

In the Chernihiv region, three civilians were injured as a result of attacks by Russian drones. Enemy drones struck populated areas in the region, damaging residential buildings, vehicles, farm structures, and infrastructure facilities.

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have used FPV drones and “Geran”-type strike drones. Kulykivka, Semenivka, and one of the communities in the Koryukivka district were hit hardest by the attacks.

Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that three people were wounded as a result of the Russian strike on Kulykivka. According to him, the town was attacked by “Geran” strike drones. Civilians were injured in the shelling.

All the wounded received the necessary medical care. They were then hospitalized in Chernihiv. “Yesterday in Kulykivka, three civilians were wounded as a result of a Russian strike with ‘Geran’ drones. The victims received the necessary care and were hospitalized at medical facilities in Chernihiv,” Vyacheslav Chaus reported. There is currently no information on the condition of the victims. Medical personnel continue to provide them with care.

In Semenivka, drones damaged houses and cars

Russian troops also attacked Semenivka with FPV drones throughout the day. Several strikes on civilian targets were recorded in the town. According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, one of the drones struck a private yard. The attack damaged cars and set a farm building on fire.

In the evening, another Russian drone struck the roof of the town’s cultural center. Experts are currently assessing the extent of the damage. “The enemy attacked Semenivka with FPV drones throughout the day. During the day, strikes hit a private yard and cars—vehicles were damaged, and a farm building caught fire. In the evening, a drone struck the roof of the city’s cultural center,” Chaus noted.

Agricultural enterprises were also targeted

In addition to residential areas, Russian drones attacked the premises of agricultural enterprises in one of the villages of the Koryukivka community. A fire broke out there following the strikes. As a result of the attack, a farm building was destroyed, and vehicles, equipment, and seed stocks were damaged.

Such strikes cause significant damage to local businesses, as agricultural infrastructure is a vital part of the communities’ economies. Emergency responders worked at the impact sites, extinguished the fires, and helped repair the damage.

Damaged Energy and Communications Facilities

According to Vyacheslav Chaus, strikes on energy and communications facilities were also recorded over the past 24 hours. The attacks could have caused disruptions in the operation of critical systems, but specialists are working to restore their functionality.

“Over the past 24 hours, there were strikes on energy and communications facilities,” reported the head of the Chernihiv region. Such attacks pose additional risks to the region’s residents, as damage to these facilities can disrupt people’s daily lives.

Chernihiv Oblast Regularly Suffers Attacks from Russia

The Chernihiv region remains one of the areas regularly targeted by Russian strikes due to its proximity to the border with Russia. Russian troops use various types of drones for their attacks, including strike drones and FPV drones. Both military facilities and civilian infrastructure are primary targets.

Local authorities are urging residents not to ignore air raid sirens and to follow safety guidelines during attacks.
