Russian drones attacked the Sumy region and caused fires in five villages
Overnight, Russian occupation forces launched a massive drone attack on the Shostka district of Sumy Oblast.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
As a result of enemy strikes and falling debris, large-scale fires broke out in residential areas in five different settlements.
Employees of the State Emergency Service (SES) promptly launched a rescue operation to address the consequences of yet another war crime committed by the Russian Federation.
The enemy strikes targeted civilian infrastructure in the border region, causing significant damage to the private property of Ukrainians.
The fire covered a large area, forcing rescuers to work simultaneously at several sites in different settlements. According to official data from the agency, “both residential homes and non-residential buildings were on fire.”
Significant forces and specialized equipment from local fire and rescue units were deployed to address the aftermath of the nighttime attack.
State Emergency Service personnel surveyed the impact sites, extinguished the identified fire pockets, and provided first aid to people.
Currently, experts continue to clear debris and assess the extent of the damage.
