Russian submarines make limited sorties in the Black Sea — Ukrainian Navy
In March, Russia reportedly deployed two submarines into the Black Sea only once for missile launches, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, during a TV broadcast.
“Combat units have remained for a long time at their base in Novorossiysk. However, their operations are restricted due to our influence. This month, their deployment occurred only once — two submarines went out for a few hours to conduct launches. Previously, submarines were constantly at sea, rotating missions, but that has not been happening for several months. This may also reflect Russian efforts to preserve equipment,” Pletenchuk said.
Earlier, Ukrainian forces carried out a large-scale operation targeting enemy military facilities in occupied territories and along the Russian border.
Russia has reported losses at two locations — a chemical plant in Tolyatti, Samara region and military positions at Cape Fiolent in occupied Crimea.
