Russian real estate agents have begun requiring male clients to provide an extract from the summons registry

The federal real estate agency network “Etagi” has introduced a new requirement for clients aged 18 to 65: they must submit an extract from the draft notice registry before concluding real estate transactions.

The company explains this step by citing the risk that Rosreestr could block the registration of transactions if a person subject to military service ignored a summons and is subject to the restrictions provided for by law. 

According to company representatives, a similar situation has already occurred in practice, when Rosreestr suspended the registration of a transaction because the seller failed to appear in response to a summons.

This rule is currently in effect in Vladivostok, but the chain plans to gradually extend it to its branches in all cities.
