Russian motorcyclist burned to death after being struck by a Ukrainian drone

Russian motorcyclist burned to death after being struck by a Ukrainian drone

Ukrainian soldiers from the 77th Airborne Brigade destroyed a Russian motorized assault vehicle that was attempting to break through to their positions at high speed. After the drone struck, the explosion was so powerful that the soldier and his vehicle were effectively turned into a fireball. Video of the strike was released on June 26.

On the front lines, there have been increasingly frequent reports of unusual assault attempts by Russian troops, who are using motorcycles instead of armored vehicles or infantry in an attempt to quickly slip past Ukrainian positions; however, such maneuvers are increasingly ending not in a breakthrough, but in their instant destruction. This time, pilots from the 77th Airborne Dnieper Brigade spotted an enemy motorcyclist traveling at high speed who, as seen in the video, did not have time to react to the approaching strike drone, which proved fatal in this assault attempt.

After the strike, a powerful explosion occurred, which, according to military estimates, indicates that the invader was carrying a significant amount of ammunition, and the motorcycle itself, along with the rider, instantly burst into flames and turned into a fireball that continued to move by inertia for several more seconds.

The brigade noted that Russian units are increasingly using motorcycles for transportation and logistics in an attempt to make detection more difficult; however, modern reconnaissance systems and strike drones allow the Ukrainian military to quickly locate and destroy such targets. “The enemy is hiding, concealing its movements, and increasingly using motorcycles for logistics. But our pilots are finding and destroying the enemy everywhere,” commented a representative of the 77th Airborne Brigade on the video. The video of combat operations was released on June 26 on the brigade’s channel.

On the night of June 26, a drone attack was recorded in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Explosions were heard in the Kerch area, where important military and logistical facilities of the Russian occupiers are located.

On June 25, explosions were heard in Ufa, Russia, after which a thick column of black smoke was visible near one of the industrial facilities.

The Moscow Oil Refinery, which was attacked overnight, controls one-third of the fuel market in the Russian capital.
