The FSB confirmed a strike on a petrochemical plant in Bashkortostan

Unmanned aerial systems successfully struck a petrochemical plant in the city of Sterlitamak, located in the Russian Federation. The facility is of strategic importance, as it produces jet fuel, components for aviation kerosene, and unique types of synthetic rubber.

This was reported in a Telegram post by SBS Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi.

According to the commander, Ukrainian drones traveled 1,500 kilometers deep into the aggressor’s territory to strike the target. The plant in Sterlitamak is the only producer of neodymium synthetic rubbers in the Russian Federation, underscoring the critical importance of the attack for the occupiers’ defense industry.

This operation took place against the backdrop of official confirmation of a systemic recession in Russia, which began in April 2026. Strikes on energy and chemical infrastructure are placing additional pressure on the Russian economy, which is already in a state of deep decline.

The results of the strikes and the extent of damage at the plant are currently being assessed. Command emphasizes the Ukrainian forces’ ability to strike enemy targets at long range, which significantly limits the Russian Federation’s capacity to supply its aviation with necessary fuel and materials.

As a reminder, in the city of Sterlitamak in Bashkortostan, one of the centers of the chemical and petrochemical industry in the Russian Federation, an attack was recorded on facilities that may be linked to the production of components for military equipment.

On the morning of April 15, Ukrainian “Lyuty” strike drones attacked a petrochemical plant in the city of Sterlitamak, located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation.
