The SBU has confirmed that a Russian reserve oil depot located 700 kilometers from the border has been hit
Fighters from the Security Service of Ukraine’s “Alpha” Special Operations Center carried out a successful drone strike on the “Temp” oil depot of Rosrezerv, located in the city of Rybinsk in the Yaroslavl Region of the Russian Federation.
This strategic facility is located more than 700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
The “Temp” oil depot is part of the Russian Federation’s state material reserve system and serves to accumulate and store gasoline, diesel fuel, and other types of fuel and lubricants. This facility directly supplies petroleum products to the northeastern regions of Russia and is used to maintain strategic fuel reserves intended for the needs of the Russian occupation army.
As a result of precise strikes by Ukrainian drones, a massive fire broke out at the oil depot. Currently, satellite imagery and visual surveillance are recording at least three major fire outbreaks directly within the facility’s tank farm, which comprises over 60 fuel storage tanks in total. The security agency emphasized that Russian oil refineries, logistics hubs, and petroleum product warehouses remain legitimate targets for SBU strikes, as they are the ones supplying resources to the aggressor’s army and financing the continuation of the war.
The SBU reported this on its official Facebook page.
On the night of June 14, unmanned aerial vehicles attacked several targets on Russian territory, one of which was an oil depot in the city of Rybinsk. The oil facility is located directly next to the Yaroslavl oil refinery.
