Shoigu has laid out the conditions for peace in Ukraine

Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, has officially outlined the conditions under which the aggressor country is prepared to consider ending hostilities in Ukraine.

According to him, the key factor for ending the war is the complete “elimination of the root causes” of the conflict, which effectively means the surrender of the Ukrainian side.

During his speech, Shoigu emphasized that Russia has allegedly never ruled out a diplomatic solution, but he put forward a series of tough demands.

In particular, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council stressed that Ukraine must officially return to “non-aligned, neutral, and non-nuclear principles.”

“We are interested in the final and complete return of Ukraine as a non-nuclear and non-aligned country. Most importantly, it must be a country that respects the rights of citizens living on its territory,” Shoigu is quoted as saying by propaganda outlets.

The Russian official paid special attention to the issue of the Russian language.

He stated that the Kremlin demands the protection of the rights of the Russian-speaking population, which, in his view, is currently deprived of the opportunity to freely communicate in their native language on Ukrainian territory.

In addition to his demands on Kyiv, Shoigu traditionally accused Western countries of destabilizing the situation. He claims that European states and the U.S. are “deliberately prolonging” the conflict by providing Ukraine with military and financial support.
