Sibiga: Russia killed an entire family during an attack on Kyiv

Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated on July 6 that an entire family had been killed as a result of Russia’s massive overnight missile attack on Kyiv. He called on international partners to respond decisively and strengthen their support for Ukraine following yet another attack on the civilian population.

“It was a horrific night in Kyiv. More than 20 ballistic missiles. At least 11 people were killed and dozens wounded, including children. Protect Ukrainian children from Russian ballistic terror! There is no task more urgent. This is our main message ahead of the NATO summit taking place this week,” he wrote.

The minister noted that rescue operations are ongoing and added that the death toll is likely to rise.

“In one of the districts, a family—a mother, father, and child—was pulled from the rubble,” he said.

Sybiga emphasized that the Alliance summit, which will take place this week, must serve as a platform for adopting concrete measures. He stressed that the era of “soft measures” is over, as they will only encourage Russia to continue its terror and expand it beyond Ukraine’s borders.

“Putin’s message to Ankara is simple: he will target sleeping children with ballistic missiles and continue the killings for as long as he can,” the minister stated.

The foreign minister stated that PAC-3 interceptor missiles were designed precisely to protect people from such barbarism. According to him, thousands of such missiles are stored in warehouses around the world in case of potential threats.

“But the threats in Ukraine are not potential! Russian missiles are killing people every week. Right now, Ukraine is the only country in the world that faces ballistic attacks every week. The means to protect against this terror must be here. And we need all air defense solutions now, not later. After all, for us, time is measured in human lives,” Sibiga wrote.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on Russia’s massive nighttime attack on Kyiv on July 6, during which the occupiers launched 68 missiles and deployed 351 attack drones.

During the morning shelling on July 6, Russian terrorists struck the DAO sorting terminal of the “Nova Poshta” company in Dnipro. The strike caused a fire on the premises, which rescue workers quickly extinguished.

The Russians last launched a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of July 2. On that occasion, Russian forces launched 496 UAVs of various types and 74 missiles—including air-, ground-, and sea-based missiles of various types—at Ukraine.
