Ukrainian defense forces have advanced in the Kostiantynivka area — ISW
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have achieved significant tactical gains in the Kostiantynivka sector, despite intense attempts by Russian occupation forces to advance and establish a foothold in the area.
Our defenders managed to push back the enemy and expand their zone of control in key sections of the front.
In particular, Ukrainian troops have successfully advanced on the southwestern and western outskirts of Kostiantynivka, regaining control of a number of strategic positions.
“Ukrainian troops are operating in western and southern Kostiantynivka, on the northern outskirts of Illinivka (south of Kostiantynivka), and in northern Stepanivka (southwest of Kostiantynivka)—all of these areas where, according to preliminary data from Russian sources, Russian troops are present,” the report by U.S. analysts notes.
At the same time, the presence of Russian troops is still being recorded in the city as they attempt to hold their positions following a tactic of infiltration in small groups.
The Ukrainian side, in turn, is delivering powerful strikes on enemy positions from various directions, completely halting their further advance.
In addition, according to the Ukrainian military, our forces have secure control of the village of Tykhonivka, located northeast of Kostiantynivka.
Russian troops have not ceased their active assault operations and recently carried out another motorized offensive using heavy infantry fighting vehicles.
The occupiers are actively replenishing their depleted units—currently, up to 80% of their personnel have already been reinforced with new mobilized troops.
According to Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines, the enemy is currently using dense summer vegetation for camouflage and to attempt covert infiltration into our rear.
This is evidenced by recent geolocated video footage released in early June, which was analyzed in detail by experts at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
In May, the Ukrainian Armed Forces liberated 120 square kilometers more territory than they lost
Less than 29.5 million people live in territory controlled by Ukraine, according to a study.
Ukraine’s population is rapidly shrinking, and experts’ forecasts are becoming increasingly alarming.
We have also previously reported that 29 million people currently live in Ukraine. Our country is no longer the second-most populous country of the former Soviet Union.
