Defense forces repelled 120 enemy assaults over the past 24 hours
On April 5, 2026, 120 combat engagements were recorded along the front line, during which Ukrainian defenders continued to systematically destroy the enemy and repel its advance.
The occupiers were most active in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors, where the enemy attempted to break through defensive lines with the support of aviation and artillery.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the aggressor demonstrated an extremely high intensity of technical means, carrying out 72 airstrikes using 242 guided bombs.
In addition, the enemy deployed a record 8,367 kamikaze drones and carried out over 3,400 attacks on the positions of our troops and civilian settlements.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian soldiers demonstrated resilience, halting 25 of the aggressor’s assault operations in the areas of such settlements as Bilytske, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, and Udachne.
“In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders repelled 25 assault operations by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Bilytske, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Pokrovsk, Rivne, Udachne, Muravka, Novopavlivka, and Filiya,” the agency’s press center noted.
The situation remained no less tense in the Kostyantynivka sector, where the enemy carried out 19 attacks near Ivanopil, Pleshchiivka, and Sofiivka.
Active fighting also took place in the Kupiansk and Huliaipole sectors, where 7 and 12 attempted advances were recorded, respectively, but all were successfully repelled by the Defense Forces.
Ukrainian aviation and missile forces delivered painful retaliatory strikes, hitting eight areas where enemy personnel and equipment were concentrated, a UAV command post, and another strategically important facility.
Total losses of Russian invaders over the past 24 hours amounted to 940 personnel, demonstrating the high effectiveness of our units’ countermeasures.
In addition to significant personnel losses, the enemy lost a large amount of military equipment, including two tanks, 58 artillery systems, and nearly 2,000 unmanned aerial vehicles of various types.
In the North and the Dnipro direction, enemy activity was somewhat lower or ended with unsuccessful assault attempts near the Antonivsky Bridge.
Currently, there are no signs of new offensive formations being established in the Volyn and Polissya sectors, allowing the Defense Forces to concentrate their main efforts on the hottest spots of the eastern and southern fronts.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are using anti-aircraft guns manufactured after World War II.
As a reminder, the situation on the front lines for the Ukrainian Defense Forces is the best it has been since June of last year.
