Air Defense Forces shoot down 103 of 146 Russian drones
From 18:00 on January 27, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 146 strike drones.
The attacks came from Rostov region as well as temporarily occupied areas in Kursk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Chauda, and Hvardiiske.
The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces responded using a combination of aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
As of 09:00 on January 28, Ukraine’s air defenses had shot down 103 drones and recorded a ballistic missile impact. Overall, 36 strike UAVs were intercepted across 22 locations.
Despite these efforts, the attack is ongoing, as enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.
