The situation on the front lines as of April 17: the Lyman sector is the hottest

In the Lyman sector, Russian forces made one attempt to break through Ukrainian defenses.

Over the past 24 hours, 132 combat engagements took place. Ukrainian forces continue to hold back the enemy’s advance, inflicting significant losses and effectively repelling attempts to penetrate deeper into Ukrainian territory.

This was reported by the General Staff.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out two missile strikes, using 24 missiles, and conducted 78 airstrikes, dropping 235 guided bombs. In addition, it deployed 9,701 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,771 shelling attacks on populated areas and our troops’ positions, 142 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

The aggressor carried out airstrikes, particularly in the areas of the settlements of Pidhavrylivka, Velykomykhailivka, Pokrovske, Orestopil, and Prosyana in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast; in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Vozdvyzhivska, Huliaipilske, Kopani, Vasylivske, Tavriiske, Kamianka, and Rivne were affected by airstrikes.

Over the past day, the Air Force, Rocket Forces, and Artillery of the Defense Forces struck one area where enemy personnel and equipment were concentrated, a command post, five artillery systems, and an enemy air defense system.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions

Over the past day, the enemy attacked our defenders’ positions four times and carried out 78 shelling attacks on our troops’ positions and populated areas, including five using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction

The enemy attempted four times to break through the defensive lines of our units in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka, Symynivka, Veterinarne, and Starytsia.

In the Kupiansk direction

The enemy attacked four times toward the settlements of Petropavlivka, Podoly, and Kurylivka.

In the Lyman direction

The enemy attempted once to breach Ukrainian defenses near the settlement of Lyman.

In the Sloviansk direction

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders repelled one attempt by the occupiers to advance in the Yampil area.

In the Kramatorsk direction

The enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces twice in the areas of the settlements of Minkivka and Nikiforivka.

In the Kostiantynivka direction

The enemy carried out 25 attacks near Illinivka, Kostyantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Stepanivka, Sofiivka, and Novopavlivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction

Ukrainian defenders repelled 32 assaults by the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Muravka, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Molodetske, and Kotlyne.

In the Oleksandrivka direction

The enemy attacked three times in the areas of the settlements of Kalynivske, Berezove, and Novooleksandrivka.

In the Huliaipole direction

There were ten attacks by the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Zaliznychne, Huliaipole, Staroukrainka, Huliaipilske, Olenokostyantynivka, Zarichne, and Tsvitkove.

In the Dnipro direction

The enemy carried out three futile offensive operations toward the Antonivsky Bridge and Bilohrudy Island.
