Cameraman Oleksandr Vernigorov was killed in the war against Russia

Oleksandr Vernigorov, a soldier and cameraman for Dnipro television stations, was killed while carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv sector. His colleagues and comrades reported his death on July 2.

Oleksandr voluntarily joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in July 2022. Since then, he had been fighting on the front lines.

Before his mobilization, he had worked for many years as a cameraman for Channel 9 in Dnipro. His last place of employment was the Vidkrytyi TV channel.

The soldier was killed on June 28 at the age of 36.

His colleagues remember Oleksandr as responsible, courageous, and dedicated to his work. In particular, journalist Oleksandr Koptev noted that he remembers him as “always focused and straightforward at work,” a true professional whom one could always rely on.

This was reported by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, citing its Dnipropetrovsk regional branch.

As a reminder, over the past 24 hours in Zaporizhzhia, 2 people were killed and 36 wounded as a result of Russian attacks.
