TikTok has removed more than a thousand posts about the Russian town of Alabuga

TikTok has removed more than 1,000 posts related to the Russian “Alabuga” Special Economic Zone. Shahed/“Geran” attack drones are manufactured there, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation.

The Center for Countering Disinformation reported this on Telegram.

“After reviewing requests from the Center for Countering Disinformation, TikTok removed more than 1,000 videos and photos related to ‘Alabuga’ for violating the platform’s rules. Measures were also taken against more than 40 accounts, six of which were blocked for violating rules regarding the exploitation of people,” the statement said.

The Center noted that the social network has improved its systems for automatically detecting such content to prevent the re-upload of removed material.

The investigation into a possible network of accounts is ongoing, the CPD reported.

Prior to this, YouTube had removed approximately 600 videos advertising the Russian drone manufacturer Alabuga.

Earlier, hackers claimed to have hacked Alabuga’s Russian IT system and planted “Shahed” drones.

Alabuga has become the center of Shahed production in Russia.
