The General Staff refuted a statement by Drapato's wife regarding the general's possible resignation

The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has documented the spread of new manipulative content aimed at discrediting Major General Mykhailo Drapaty, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This time, a purported statement from the Commander-in-Chief’s wife is circulating online, referring to “strong internal resistance” to Mykhailo Drapaty’s reforms, “pressure” from the inner circle of the former leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and political circles, as well as the general’s possible early resignation.

At the same time, the Center for Public Diplomacy emphasized that there is no confirmation of the authenticity of this statement or that it was written by Mykhailo Drapaty’s wife.

“This time, a purported statement by the Commander-in-Chief’s wife is circulating online regarding ‘strong internal resistance’ to Mykhailo Drapaty’s reforms, ‘pressure’ from the former leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and political circles, as well as his possible early resignation. There is no confirmation of the authenticity of this statement or that it was made by the Commander-in-Chief’s wife,” the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized.

The Center for Countering Disinformation noted that such publications are part of an information campaign aimed at creating a false impression in society of an alleged internal rift within the military leadership.

According to the Center’s assessment, the dissemination of such materials is also intended to undermine trust in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“The Center emphasizes: reports from anonymous and unofficial sources, especially without proper verification, cannot serve as a basis for conclusions regarding the situation within the military leadership,” the agency stressed.

Thus, the information regarding the alleged statement by Mykhailo Drapaty’s wife and his possible early resignation has not yet been confirmed.

The CPD announced this on Facebook.

In addition, Russia is preparing a media campaign aimed at spreading claims about Ukraine’s alleged mistreatment of Russian prisoners of war. According to the Kremlin’s plan, such materials are intended to create an alternative narrative for Western audiences and cast doubt on reports of systematic torture of Ukrainian prisoners in Russia.

As a reminder, following Ukraine’s successful long-range strikes on Russian oil refineries and other strategic targets, the Kremlin stepped up its information campaign against Western countries. This was stated by Colonel Ants Kiviselg, head of the Estonian Armed Forces Intelligence Center.

The Russian Federation is conducting a large-scale information campaign in an attempt to shift the blame onto Ukraine for the destruction of Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region and the deaths of civilians.
