Turkey has responded to Russia's attack on a ship with a Turkish crew off the coast of Odesa

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed concern following an attack by Russian drones on a cargo ship owned by a Turkish company in the Odesa region, which resulted in injuries to crew members.

This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the ministry, the ship, flying the flag of Vanuatu, was transporting cargo from the Odesa region to Turkey when it came under attack by a drone. As a result of the strike, two Turkish citizens on board sustained minor injuries.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that the country’s Consulate General in Odesa is in constant contact with the victims and is monitoring their condition.

The statement also expressed concern over the escalation of the situation in the Black Sea and the potential consequences of the escalation for the entire region.

Ankara called on all parties to refrain from actions that could lead to a further expansion of the conflict and emphasized the need to ensure the safety of civilian shipping.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry once again stated its support for a diplomatic resolution to the war and the need to seek ways to end it through negotiations.

A Russian drone struck a civilian vessel flying the Turkish flag. The strike caused a fire on board. According to preliminary reports, two crew members were injured; the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.
