In March, overall Russian losses increased by 29% thanks to Ukrainian UAV units

Unmanned systems units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have become a decisive factor in holding back the enemy and maintaining strategic initiative on the front.

According to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, for four consecutive months Ukrainian drones have been eliminating more enemy personnel than the aggressor nation is able to recruit into its army.

The commander-in-chief reported this following a meeting in March 2026 dedicated to the development of unmanned technologies. Analysis showed a rapid increase in UAV effectiveness at all levels — from tactical to operational.

“For four months in a row, starting in December 2025, our unmanned systems units have neutralized more enemy personnel than they recruit into their ranks,” emphasized Oleksandr Syrskyi.

March statistics indicate a genuine technological breakthrough by Ukrainian defenders. Compared to February, overall enemy losses from drone strikes increased by 29%, and the number of verified targets hit rose by 50%, reaching over 150,000 objects.

Daily, unmanned units carry out over 11,000 combat tasks, maintaining continuous fire pressure on the occupiers. Special attention was given to Middle Strike systems, which operate at ranges from 30 to 120 kilometers.

Long-range strikes have hit 143 logistics facilities and warehouses, 52 Russian army command posts, and 20 energy sector objects. Ground robotic complexes also show positive trends, increasing operational intensity by 50%.

On both the front line and in the rear, so-called “waiting drones” are increasingly used, which can remain a threat for over 24 hours in standby mode.

For the first time in history, the Armed Forces of Ukraine completely destroyed a bridge using drones.
