Eight people were killed in the Brovary District while waiting for a train as a result of an attack by the Russian Federation

On the night of August 5, Russian troops launched an attack on the Brovary District in the Kyiv Region. One of the most tragic sites was the Kvitneve train station, where eight people waiting for a train were killed.

According to Vitaliy Bigun, the tragedy occurred because of a train delay, which left people on the platform at the very moment of the Russian strike.

“I am currently at the Kvitneve station, where, unfortunately, we have the highest number of casualties and injured. Last night, the train was slightly delayed, and people missed their last train. So far, we know of eight people who died, he said.

According to the head of the Regional State Administration, five locations in the Brovary district have sustained significant damage.

Logistics companies, including Fozzy Food, as well as civilian infrastructure facilities, were hit by Russian shelling.

In addition, numerous residential buildings were damaged. Experts are currently assessing the extent of the damage.

“The extent and severity of the damage are currently being assessed. All relevant services are on the scene, Bigun noted.

The head of the Brovary District State Administration reported that State Emergency Service rescuers are continuing to extinguish a fire at one of the largest logistics hubs, which specializes in freight transportation.

According to preliminary data, eight people have died, the fate of three others remains unknown, and about 12 injured people are in hospitals, where they are receiving the necessary medical care.

“So the situation is as follows: eight people are confirmed dead, three are unaccounted for, and about 12 people are currently in the hospital, where they are receiving emergency medical care, Vitaliy Bigun summarized.

As a reminder, 14 people were killed and another 27 civilians were injured as a result of a nighttime attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region on August 5, 2026. Rescue workers continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and extinguish fires in several districts of the region.

As a result of a Russian strike with guided bombs on Sumy on August 4, two young girls—10-year-old Sofia and 5-year-old Emilia—were killed. The children were in their own home when the Russian attack cut short their lives. Photos of the deceased sisters have appeared online.

As a result of a Russian missile attack overnight on August 5, production and logistics facilities belonging to the company “Epicenter” sustained significant damage. One employee was killed, and three others were injured.
