At least 20 people remain trapped under the rubble in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv
A large-scale rescue operation is ongoing in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district at the site of a nine-story building destroyed by a Russian strike. People may still be trapped under the rubble.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service on Telegram.
At least 20 people are considered missing after part of the residential building collapsed.
Rescuers continue to clear the rubble and conduct search operations. The situation remains difficult due to the scale of the destruction.
It is also reported that the bodies of two more victims have been recovered from the rubble of the building. Thus, the death toll has risen to five.
In addition to the fatalities, at least 39 people were injured in the attack, including a child. Another 28 people were rescued.
The State Emergency Service notes that information regarding the injured and missing may change as rescue operations continue.
As a reminder, overnight, Russia launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine using strategic aviation, ballistic missiles, and a large number of drones. The main strike hit Kyiv, where a building entrance of a high-rise residential building was completely destroyed by a direct hit.
