In Kyiv, the air raid alert lasted nearly eight hours
One of the longest air raid alerts in the capital has ended; it lasted 7 hours and 52 minutes due to a massive enemy attack.
The alert was issued at 12:50 a.m., and the all-clear signal was not sounded until 8:43 a.m., when the threat from missiles and drones was finally eliminated.
The prolonged time residents spent in shelters was due to the combined nature of the strike, in which kamikaze drones alternated with ballistic and cruise missiles.
The enemy deliberately stretched out the attack over time, attempting to exhaust the civilian population and the city’s air defense forces as much as possible.
On the night of May 14, the occupiers directed the main thrust of the attack specifically at Kyiv, using various types of weapons from multiple directions simultaneously.
