In Konotop, a boiler station accident leaves people without heating

In Konotop, Sumy region, a boiler station went out of service due to a power switch, leaving residents temporarily without heating.

The city’s mayor, Artem Semenikhin, reported this on Telegram.

"There is a critical heating situation in the central part of the city. The boiler station has failed (electronics) due to power switching. People have been without heating for more than six hours," he said.

The mayor of Konotop also stated that an emergency commission is being assembled in the city.

"All utility workers responsible for the heating networks are on site. If the boiler cannot be restarted by 9:30, warming centres will be opened," he added.

Meanwhile, 400 buildings in Kyiv remain without heating, and the city authorities have indicated when it is expected to be restored. Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko has also announced the timeline for the resumption of heating in the city.
