Eleven high-rise buildings were damaged in the Poltava community as a result of morning shelling

A nighttime attack by enemy drones on the Poltava community has resulted in widespread damage to residential areas.

The blast wave damaged 11 apartment buildings, causing significant losses to the city’s residents.

Kateryna Yamshchikova, secretary of the Poltava City Council, reported that relevant services have already conducted a preliminary survey of the area.

According to preliminary data, at least 292 windows were shattered in the buildings, 237 of which were in residents’ apartments.

In addition to damage to private homes, public areas were also affected—55 broken windows were recorded there.

Despite the significant force of the explosions and the destruction of buildings, no reports of civilian casualties have been received so far.

The enemy attack caused serious power supply issues in the region. Due to damage to the power grid, over 6,500 residential customers and 548 businesses were temporarily left without electricity.

“All necessary city services are involved in addressing the aftermath. Inspections and consultations with residents are ongoing, and we have begun distributing materials from the city’s reserve to temporarily seal the damaged windows,” emphasized Kateryna Yamshchikova.

City authorities have set up a relief center where those affected can receive necessary advice and building materials.

Specialists are helping residents quickly seal window openings with plastic sheeting and OSB panels to protect their homes from the elements.
