Power was cut off again in six regions of Ukraine following Russian strikes
As of the morning of July 16, consumers in six regions of Ukraine remain without power due to the latest Russian shelling. At the same time, Ukrenergo reported that electricity consumption in the country has begun to gradually decline.
“As a result of Russian drone attacks and artillery shelling of frontline regions, as of this morning there are new power outages in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. Emergency repair work is already underway wherever safety conditions currently permit," the statement said.
As of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, electricity consumption was 4.5% lower than the previous day. The power system operator attributes the reversal of the upward trend in consumption observed in previous days to clear weather across Ukraine, which enables residential solar power plants to operate efficiently.
Ukrenergo advises using high-power electrical appliances during the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently—from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This was reported by NEC “Ukrenergo” on Facebook.
Ukrenergo reminded the public that responsible energy consumption helps reduce the load on the power grid and maintain its stable operation. Currently, there is no information regarding the implementation of hourly power outage schedules for July 15. The company announced this on its social media accounts.
The harvest has officially begun in all regions of Ukraine. As of July 14, farmers have already harvested over 3.1 million metric tons of grain from the new crop, with the largest harvest volumes currently coming from the Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
