13 injured in Sumy after overnight drone attack
An overnight attack by Russian drones in Sumy left 13 people injured, including a child. Roofs of residential buildings, over 300 windows, and gas infrastructure were damaged, according to Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, head of the Sumy City Military Administration, on Telegram.
Kryvosheyenko reported that the strike lasted about three hours, resulting in serious injuries to 13 residents. “A massive strike by Russian UAVs, reportedly of the ‘Gerbera’ type, over three hours last night caused severe consequences in Sumy. As of now, 13 people are injured, including one child,” he wrote. Two adults were hospitalized, the child received treatment on-site, and eight other residents sustained minor injuries and were treated locally.
The attack damaged four areas of the city: roofs of multi-story buildings, over 300 windows, and disrupted electricity and gas infrastructure. Temporary shelters were prepared overnight, and emergency teams began work in the morning. Specialists continue restoration efforts and provide consultations to residents of affected buildings. The city authorities urge citizens to follow safety measures and report any new damage.
