UAF denies Russian claims of capturing the village of Pishchane in Dnipropetrovsk region
The 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine rejected Russian claims about the alleged capture of the village of Pishchane in Synelnykove Raion, Dnipropetrovsk region.
Major Ivan Sekach, head of the brigade’s communication department, told Suspilne that these statements do not correspond to reality.
According to him, Russian forces are using a tactic of simulating control over settlements by sending isolated or small groups of soldiers.
He explained that he previously spoke with a captured Russian soldier who had been issued a flag, a rifle, and a radio and was given directions. The soldier independently crossed a river and entered the rear of Ukrainian units, where he was detained by artillery troops and taken prisoner.
Sekach emphasized that even if the Russian side displays photos or videos of individual soldiers in an area, this cannot be considered the capture of a settlement. The presence of a single soldier entering a village through fields or in foggy conditions does not mean control has been established.
