Ukraine has imposed sanctions on suppliers of Russian missile systems
Ukraine’s new sanctions package targets companies that supply components for the production of Russia’s Iskander missile systems and S-400 air defense systems. According to government officials, the restrictions are intended to weaken key elements of the Russian defense industry.
Vladislav Vlasyuk, the president’s representative on sanctions, told reporters this on May 13.
The new package targets not only weapons manufacturers but also the network of companies that support them.
The restrictions apply to companies associated with three key factories:
JSC “Moscow Machine-Building Plant ‘Avangard’”—manufactures S-300 and S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems;
Perm Powder Plant – produces gunpowder and rocket fuel;
JSC “Votkinsk Plant” – produces Iskander ballistic missiles.
JSC “Unitest-Rentgen” supplied equipment for quality control of missile components to the “Avangard” plant. In addition, this company collaborated with the “Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering”—the institution that developed the “Topol-M,” “Yars,” and “Bulava” missiles.
A2 Group LLC supplied the Perm Powder Plant with raw materials for the production of gunpowder and rocket fuel—components without which ammunition and missile systems simply do not function.
A separate set of restrictions targeted companies that helped Russia’s defense sector obtain prohibited equipment and electronics.
Specifically, these include “RT-Komplektatsiya”—a subsidiary of the sanctioned state-owned concern “Rostec”—and the company “Spetstekhnologiya.” Both helped circumvent international restrictions through imports.
Sanctions were also imposed against the IT company “Inforion.” It developed secure data collection and management systems, as well as software for Russian law enforcement agencies.
Vlasyuk stated that all the information gathered will be shared with international partners to coordinate sanctions.
