On May 2, Ukrainian air defenses shot down 220 out of 227 enemy drones
Ukrainian air defenses successfully neutralized the vast majority of drones used by Russian forces to attack the country on Saturday, May 2.

On May 2 (from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), the enemy launched 227 attacks using Shahed-type strike UAVs (including jet-powered ones), Gerber, Italmas, and other types of drones from the following directions: Shatalovo, Kursk, Orel, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Russian Federation, Gvardeyskoye – Temporary Occupied Territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea; approximately 135 of them were “Shaheds.”
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 6:00 p.m., air defense forces shot down or neutralized 220 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerber, Italmas, and other types in the north, south, center, and west of the country.
Seven strike UAVs were recorded hitting six locations, and debris from downed UAVs was found at five locations.

As a reminder, air defense forces destroyed 388 drones during the previous massive attack.
On the night of May 1, Russian troops carried out an attack on port infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region. The Izmail district came under fire.
In addition, Mykolaiv was again attacked by Russian drones. Homes in the residential sector were damaged, and a fire broke out. An air raid alert remains in effect in the city, and residents are urged to stay in shelters.
In Dnipro, a bus was destroyed and a residential building, a store, and cars were damaged as a result of the strike. There is also damage in Zaporizhzhia.
