Over Four Years, Ukrainian Air Defense Has Destroyed More Than 140,000 Enemy Targets

Since Russia’s full-scale invasion on 24 February 2022, Ukraine’s air defense has destroyed over 140,000 enemy aerial targets.

These figures demonstrate the effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defense systems and the determined work of personnel who defend the country’s skies daily from attacks by drones, missiles, and enemy aircraft. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Telegram.

“From the very first moments of the Russian invasion, Air Force personnel took up the defense of Ukrainian skies. Under extremely difficult conditions and massive missile and air strikes, they maintained control of the air defense system, scrambled fighters, engaged in combat, and prevented the enemy from achieving their main goal — subjugating Ukraine,” the Air Force stated.

The Air Force emphasized that pilots, anti-aircraft crews, radar units, drone forces, communications specialists, and support personnel — each in their own role — fight every day to maintain air superiority.

“Thousands of destroyed missiles and drones, dozens of aircraft and helicopters, hundreds of destroyed ground targets — these are the results of professionalism, courage, and self-sacrifice,” they added.

Since 24 February 2022, Ukrainian air defense has destroyed over 140,000 aerial targets, including:

  • 86 aeroballistic missiles Kh-47 M2 “Kinzhal”
  • 709 cruise missiles Kalibr
  • 2,459 cruise missiles Kh-101
  • 13 cruise missiles Kh-22/Kh-32
  • 12 anti-ship missiles Oniks

  • 274 ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23
  • 11 anti-ship missiles Tsirkon
  • 30 missiles of other types
  • 540 guided air-to-air missiles
  • 44,700 attack drones Shahed
  • 14,900 reconnaissance drones
  • 7,500 drones Lancet
  • 70,300 other types of drones

From 2022 to 2026, Air Force aviation carried out 26,800 flights, including:

  • 11,000 for strike missions and aviation support of troops
  • 14,000 for fighter air cover

Over four years, Ukraine’s defense aviation destroyed 9,000 aerial targets, struck command posts, logistics facilities, and concentrations of enemy personnel and equipment.

Recent operations include shooting down 105 enemy drones during a night attack, and Russia’s drone attacks on Odesa region caused casualties and significant damage.

Russia also carried out massive missile and drone strikes on Kyiv, resulting in injuries.
