An air raid alert was issued in Romania following an attack by Russian drones

The reason for the activation of the warning system in Romania was yet another Russian drone attack on Ukrainian port infrastructure along the Danube. It created an increased threat near the Romanian border.

This is stated in an official announcement by the Romanian Ministry of Defense dated May 1.

 

After 3 a.m., during another Russian attack on cities in southern Odesa Oblast, Romanian surveillance systems detected the movement of nine drones.

In response, authorities decided to issue an air raid alert for settlements in Tulcea County. The RO-Alert notification was sent out at 3:36 a.m.

Reports indicate that explosions were detected on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube, in the Izmail and Kiliya areas. Radar surveillance systems did not detect any violations of Romanian airspace.

The alert in Romania was lifted at 4:03 a.m. 

Odessa suffered another massive attack by Russian drones on the night of April 27. The shelling damaged residential buildings, a hotel, and civilian infrastructure; there are casualties.

Russian troops carried out 629 attacks on 45 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region over the past 24 hours. A 59-year-old man was killed as a result of a strike on the Zaporizhzhia district.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, three civilians were injured as a result of shelling on April 26.

On the morning of April 26, 2026, Russian troops shelled Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region. Two people were killed in the attack, and another civilian was wounded.

Additionally, a 24-year-old man who was wounded during an evening Russian attack on Dnipro died in the hospital.

On the night of April 26, 2026, Russian forces again attacked the Zhytomyr region with strike drones.
