Ukrainian drones struck five Russian ships in Mariupol, Berdyansk, and off the coast of Crimea (video)
On the night of June 5, Ukrainian drones carried out an attack on five Russian vessels located in the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk, as well as in the coastal waters of the temporarily occupied Crimea. According to reports, the ships were sailing with their radar systems turned off and their names painted over, likely in an attempt to conceal their identities. The circumstances of the strikes and the extent of the damage are being clarified.
Cargo ships and tankers in the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk, as well as in the coastal waters of the temporarily occupied Crimea, were targeted.
All targets had one thing in common: painted-over names and turned-off radars.
The ships were transporting:
- grain from the occupied territories;
- fuel;
- military cargo.
To avoid detection, the ships’ names were painted over, and their transponders and radars were turned off.

The Unmanned Systems Forces specified the locations of the targets struck:
a cargo ship near the city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhzhia Oblast;
two cargo ships near Yalta, Donetsk Oblast;
two cargo ships near Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast.
