Ukrainian Forces destroy latest Russian AI-equipped “Klin” drone for the first time
On 10 February, soldiers of the 118th Separate Mechanised Brigade shot down a new Russian strike drone known as “Klin,” equipped with artificial intelligence.
This “Shahed-type” UAV is considered one of the latest developments of Russia’s military-industrial complex. It was officially presented only in October 2025, and its first combat deployment ended with the occupiers losing the costly piece of equipment.
According to the military, the drone entered the brigade’s area of responsibility and was promptly destroyed. This once again demonstrates that loud claims by Russian developers about the “invincibility” of their technology do not hold up on the battlefield.
Russian engineers had promoted the “Klin” as a drone capable of autonomously detecting and striking targets at a range of up to 120 kilometres. However, Ukrainian defenders managed to “hunt it down” during one of its first real combat missions.
The technical specifications of the new enemy UAV highlight its potential danger. With a take-off weight of 13.5 kilograms, the drone can reach speeds of up to 300 km/h and carry a 5-kilogram explosive payload, either in a shaped-charge or high-explosive configuration.
Earlier, Ukrainian defenders eliminated 820 occupiers over the past day. Ukrainian forces also destroyed a Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system.
