Two people were killed and a child was injured in a nighttime attack on the Poltava region
On the night of March 24, 2026, Russian occupation forces launched a massive missile and drone strike on Poltava and the Poltava region.
Two civilians were killed in the terrorist attack, and more than ten people were injured.
Among the victims is a five-year-old boy who is currently in the hospital in critical condition. Doctors are fighting to save the child’s life after he sustained serious injuries during the nighttime shelling of the city’s residential neighborhoods.
“The Russian Armed Forces carried out a missile and drone strike on the Poltava region. Two people were killed in the Russian attack, and more than a dozen civilians were injured,” law enforcement agencies reported while documenting the consequences of the enemy’s aggression.

The strikes targeted civilian infrastructure, causing widespread destruction and fires. In particular, a nine-story building, private residential homes, and the roof of a local hotel sustained significant damage.
A strike was also recorded on the production buildings of a company that was not operating at the time of the attack.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the sites of the strikes to extinguish the fires and provide first aid to affected residents.

The Poltava Regional Prosecutor’s Office has already launched a pre-trial investigation into violations of the laws and customs of war.
Investigators are collecting debris from missiles and drones, which will serve as evidence in future international tribunals against the aggressor.

As a reminder, Russian forces carried out another combined attack on Ukraine, using strike drones and cruise missiles.
Additionally, 20 houses were damaged in Znamianka following the drone attack.
