Prolonged disruptions to communications and internet reported in occupied Crimea
In temporarily occupied Crimea, mobile communications and internet access regularly disappear, with outages lasting from several hours to several days.
According to the Centre of National Resistance, residents of the peninsula are effectively deprived of the ability to make calls or use any online services. Problems are being recorded across the networks of all major Russian operators operating in the occupied territory. At the same time, subscription fees are being charged in full, despite the failure to provide proper services.
Complaints to customer support services have brought no results, as operators avoid giving clear answers about when networks will be restored. Alongside the deterioration in service quality, Russian companies are gradually increasing tariff prices and reducing available data allowances. The occupying authorities have provided no official explanation for the unstable operation of communication systems, leaving the population in a state of information isolation.
Earlier, the Kremlin commented on the need to block Telegram.
Russian servicemen in the area of the so-called “special military operation” have begun recording video appeals to Putin, demanding that access to Telegram should not be restricted.
