Video: Explosions were heard in Crimea; a Wildberries warehouse was hit
On the night of July 24, the temporarily occupied Crimea came under attack by drones. Explosions were heard in at least four settlements; according to reports, a Wildberries warehouse was hit, and some areas experienced disruptions in electricity and water supply.
In Simferopol, the strike was recorded near the Semashko Republican Clinical Hospital—the site of the Wildberries warehouse, which serves the occupiers throughout the Crimean Peninsula.
This is the Wildberries sorting center—the company’s main logistics hub on the peninsula, located on the outskirts of the city at the 12th kilometer of Moskovskoye Highway, near the town of Molodizhne. According to publicly available data on Wildberries’ logistics, long-haul trucks from Russia pass through the facility—primarily via the Kerch Bridge from hubs in the Krasnodar Krai, from where goods are distributed to order pickup points throughout Crimea. The center also accepts shipments from Crimean entrepreneurs under the FBW and FBS models and operated around the clock; the area of the first phase of the facility, launched jointly with local operator IC Logistics, exceeds 6,000 square meters.
Due to drone strikes on large Wildberries warehouses in southern Russia—in particular, the hub in Krasnodar, which served as the main transit hub for Crimea—the Simferopol facility had already been experiencing a shortage of new shipments recently, and order processing and delivery times have been delayed. This is at least the fifth instance of the company’s facilities being struck in the past week alone.
In addition, according to “Crimean Wind,” powerful explosions were heard in the area of the Simferopol Thermal Power Plant—eyewitnesses report seeing a glow and thick black smoke over the city. The thermal power plant was likely the target: similar facilities have been repeatedly attacked by drones in various parts of the peninsula.
Subsequently, a series of explosions occurred again in Simferopol: mobile fire teams of the occupying forces attempted to shoot down the drones, but, according to eyewitnesses, to no avail.
In Sudak, according to as-yet-unverified reports from subscribers, an explosion occurred at a power substation at approximately 12:03 a.m.—this information requires official confirmation. However, the consequences are clear: the entire city was left without power, and water supplies were cut off in most areas as well. Sudak had previously experienced a large-scale blackout that affected several cities on the peninsula at once.
In Yevpatoria, according to local residents, the repulsion of the drone attack lasted at least half an hour—explosions were heard throughout the city.
