Video: New oil product spills discovered in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation
In the Temryuk District of Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, new oil spills have been reported along the coast of the Sea of Azov. The pollution was discovered after a large oil slick appeared near the seaport of Taganrog.
According to Russian authorities, the pollution stretches approximately 5–6 kilometers along the coast—from the Chushka Spit to the village of Kuchugury. As a result, a state of emergency has been declared in the Zaporizhzhia rural settlement.
Sixty-nine employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, local government officials, volunteers, and nine pieces of equipment have been mobilized to address the situation. Work is also underway in the Primorsko-Akhtarsky District, where 125 people are cleaning up the coastline using 20 pieces of equipment.
Local residents and ecologist Georgy Kavanoyan, who posted a video from the coast, have also reported new fuel oil spills. According to him, the pollution was detected near several settlements. The environmentalist emphasized that the Tamano-Zaporizhzhia Nature Reserve is located nearby, where the bird nesting season is currently underway.
In early July, satellite images also detected new traces of oil in the area where the tanker “Volgoneft-239” sank in the Kerch Strait. Analysts speculate that the cause could have been a new fuel leak during work on the vessel or due to rising water temperatures.
In addition, according to the website Pixel Planet, on July 11–12, satellites detected several oil slicks in the Sea of Azov, some of which likely originated from ships that had previously been attacked by drones.
This was reported by The Moscow Times, citing the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters.
As a reminder, Robert Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces, announced a new phase of Operation “MoLoChKa” in the Black Sea. According to him, on the night of July 15, Ukrainian drones struck 20 Russian-owned vessels.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces have struck or destroyed 1,559 Russian military targets, including 15 enemy vessels.
On the night of July 10, Taganrog in Russia’s Rostov Oblast came under a massive drone attack. According to local sources, fires broke out in the port area and near the aviation college, while Russian authorities reported that air defense forces were engaged.
