Zelenskyy called on partners to fully fund Ukraine's defense needs by the end of the year
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the diplomatic team to discuss key priorities for working with partners in the coming weeks.
According to him, the government, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the President, the military, and the negotiating team have a clear task: to meet Ukraine’s current financial needs in the area of defense. Everything that can be done together with partners and using their funds—primarily regarding defense contracts—must be 100% completed by the end of the year. Full funding is required to achieve this.
Zelenskyy noted that specific decisions and the terms of agreements with partners have already been determined. He placed responsibility for ensuring their full implementation on the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the team at the Office of the President.
The President also stated that he is counting on active support from lawmakers. If government officials fulfill their part of the commitments by October 15 to secure the funding Ukraine needs, he said, the same clear timeline is required from Parliament. The government and Ukrainian diplomats must maintain constant communication with members of parliament.
The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel.
