Russia struck the North Bridge in Kyiv; traffic is restricted
On the morning of October 3, Russian forces struck the North Bridge in Kyiv. Prior to that, a series of explosions rocked the capital amid an air raid alert and the threat of an attack by strike drones.
At around 6:38 a.m., an air raid alert was issued in the capital due to the threat of attack drones. Shortly thereafter, explosions were heard in Kyiv.
At approximately 6:56 a.m., it was reported that the North Bridge had been hit. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene.
Experts are currently assessing the consequences of the Russian strike. No information on the extent of the damage was available at the time of this report.
After the Northern Bridge was closed, some of Kyiv’s public transportation began operating with delays.

According to Kyivpastrans, the following buses are running with delays:
- buses No. 21, 73, 101, 114;
- trolleybuses No. 29, 30, 31, and 47.
The city continues to work on organizing public transportation while taking the security situation into account.
This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Prior to this, the Russian Federation—an aggressor state—attacked a bridge in Kyiv, Ukraine, for the second day in a row. An evening drone strike on the closed South Bridge marked yet another attack on the capital’s infrastructure.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia—the aggressor state—may intensify its attacks on Ukraine ahead of the U.S. midterm elections scheduled for November 3. He made these remarks in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País.
