Video: Ukrainian forces capture six Russian soldiers
Ukraine’s defence forces continue to bolster the prisoner exchange pool by capturing Russian troops on various front-line sectors. A video circulating online shows an operation in which six Russian soldiers were taken prisoner.
The footage shows the final stage of the capture: five Russian troops sitting in a trench with their hands bound behind their backs, awaiting evacuation to the rear. Another Russian soldier, moving with difficulty, is escorted to join the group.
According to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy unit ceased to exist as a result of the operation. The prisoners may provide valuable intelligence and be included in future exchanges.
Meanwhile, Russian media published a photo of a Ukrainian serviceman showing his severed head. Preliminary reports say the soldier has been identified and the information passed to law enforcement.
Earlier, Ukraine’s National Police, under prosecutorial supervision, identified five Russian soldiers involved in the execution of civilians during the occupation of Bucha in 2022.
