Aircraft production in Russia rose 117% over the past year — Bloomberg

In April 2026, aircraft production in Russia, including drones, increased by 117% compared to the same period last year. The growth is attributed to high demand for drones for the war against Ukraine.

According to the publication, the average annual growth in production in the Russian aviation sector in 2025 was 68%.

Bloomberg also recalls a statement by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, who reported in early May that in 2026, Russia plans to manufacture 7.3 million FPV drones and 7.8 million combat units for various types of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has put 64 Su-34 and Su-35 combat aircraft, as well as 12 Su-27 aircraft, into service. According to official data cited by the agency, production in the Russian aircraft manufacturing industry grew by 78% in the first four months of 2026.

Vladimir Tkachuk, a representative of the Russian company UralDronePlant, stated that the confrontation between offensive and defensive capabilities on the battlefield is constantly intensifying, which stimulates the further development of drone technologies.
